Bios

S. Anthony Long

The founding attorney of Long & Mathies, Mr. Long was admitted to the bar of the State of Indiana in 1970 and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals, Six and Seventh Circuits; and the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Indiana.

A native of Tennyson, Indiana, Mr. Long graduated from DePauw University in 1966, and is a member of Beta Theta Pi social fraternity. He received his law degree from Indiana University in 1970, and is a member of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Elected in 1978, he served as Warrick County Prosecutor until 1994. Long is a member of the Warrick County, Vanderburgh County, Indiana State and American Bar Associations; as well the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and serves as a Fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation. Active in politics, Mr. Long is the Chairman of the Democratic Committee for the Indiana Eighth Congressional District.

Warren C. Mathies

A graduate of Purdue University and Indiana University School of Law, Mr. Mathies’ professional background includes employment with the United States Congress, Indiana Governor’s Office, and the Indiana Speaker of the House. He also was a member of senior management for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. His extensive experience in all levels of government complements his work as a registered Lobbyist Advocate on behalf of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, AT&T, and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana as well as various small business and government clients.

Mr. Mathies is licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration as a private pilot. He has appeared as local counsel in aviation concerns. Mr. Mathies is also a charter member of the Brain Injury Association of Indiana and was also the lead advocate for the 1998 Amendments to the Indiana Medical Malpractice Act, as well as the lead advocate for passage of the Indiana Adult Wrongful Death Act.

Samuel Adam Long

Samuel Adam Long, son of S. Anthony, was admitted to the Indiana bar in 2006 and has also been admitted practice before the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Indiana. He graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2002 and received his J.D. in 2006 after attending St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida and Indiana University-Indianapolis. He is a member of the Warrick County, Vanderburgh County, Indiana State and American Bar Associations.
